AYD Accelerate - Open Class (Age 12+)

AYD Accelerate Weekly Dance Programme 

Inviting young black dancers aged 12+, of African and Caribbean heritage, who have an interest in dance. All levels welcome. 

Artistry Youth Dance are excited to announce that they will be delivering 2 new weekly programmes to support your dance development. The classes will give you the opportunity to focus on a specific style taught by Industry Professionals with this first programme being delivered by the incredible Shea Best (find out more about Shea below).

This programme is in partnership with Trinity Laban. 

Day: Thursday 

Dates: Thu 9 Nov to Thu 14 Dec 2023 (6 sessions) 

Time 

Open Class (Age 12+) - 5.30pm to 6.45pm 

Location: Trinity Laban Faculty of Dance, Laban Building, Creekside, London, SE8 3DZ 

Cost: £40 plus booking fee, for full course (6 classes) 

Shea Best

Shea Best is a dancer, choreographer, actor, and director, hailing from Barbados. At 31 years of age, Shea holds an MA in Choreography from Leeds Beckett University and a diverse wealth of experience in dance performance, choreography and teaching.

Having trained, performed, and toured throughout the Caribbean, Canada and the UK, some of Shea’s most notable work to date includes collaboration on a project led by Rihanna, appearing in Davido’s ‘Assurance’ music video, and being Barbados’ most recent recipient of the revered Prime Minister’s Award for his choreographic work.

Artistry Youth Dance is a dance company that supports young people of African and Caribbean heritage. Through a world-class training programme, we’re leading the way in creating opportunities for young Black dancers.  

We’re passionate about empowering young people through creative dance development, and along with high-quality training, offer unforgettable dance and performance opportunities with industry leaders and professionals.  

We believe dance is a platform to help young people grow their self-confidence and find and shine their light. Our inspiring community creates a safe space for young dancers, along with the opportunity to explore and develop their talent through a diversity of dance styles.
