We are delighted that 2 of our current and former Company members have been selected by One Dance UK to be a Dance Ambassador for 2017/2018. Grace Akinbode and Destiny Bennett-Ellis will join 18 other young dancers, aged 15-25 who act as both ambassadors for dance in general and where possible assist with the delivery of One Dance UK activities. It is a unique opportunity for the dancers, and we look forward to learning about their journeys over the year ahead.
Information from the One Dance UK website:
Who is a Dance Ambassador and what do they do?
One Dance UK’s Dance Ambassadors are proactive and confident young people from across the UK. They learn about the work of One Dance UK and advocate for the organisation and its activities across their networks, with decision makers and stakeholders in their location and at events that One Dance UK invite them to. Our final performance for the term was at the Brit School’s ‘+Push' Performing Arts Festival. The Festival was an evening of exciting performances from London schools, colleges, and youth dance companies. It was a great event to have been involved with, and a wonderful chance for the dancers to further showcase their dance and performances skills. A special thanks to the Brit School for programming us in their exciting show.

We were invited to perform at this year’s ‘Move It’ exhibition, the UK's biggest dance event. Over 28 000 visitors attended the 3-day event which featured performances, workshops, and everything dance.
We were delighted to feature as VIP guest artists at the new Move It and Capezio Dance Championships stage. The dancers presented their compelling Contemporary Caribbean piece, 'Empowerment', choreographed by the talented Shelley Maxwell.

For the second year in succession, we were guest performers at ‘Blaze’, a unique dance event run by Trinity Laban. Blaze is an interactive day of dance for girls aged 11-16 years, aimed to encourage them to participate in dance. The day featured performances by female dancers in order to inspire the participants. Audience members stated that their highlight of the event was ‘being able to watch all of the different performances’. A huge thank you to Trinity Laban for including us in such an uplifting event.
Artistry Youth Dance has been selected as a regional finalist for 'U.Dance', a national youth dance festival organised by Youth Dance England, Sadler's Wells and Trinity Laban. We've been mentioned in this article by London Dance (alongside the other finalists) regarding our selection in this fantastic event! Very exciting!
