Trinity Laban

15th February, 2017

Artistry Youth Dance

For the second year in succession, we were guest performers at ‘Blaze’, a unique dance event run by Trinity Laban. Blaze is an interactive day of dance for girls aged 11-16 years, aimed to encourage them to participate in dance. The day featured performances by female dancers in order to inspire the participants. Audience members stated that their highlight of the event was ‘being able to watch all of the different performances’. A huge thank you to Trinity Laban for including us in such an uplifting event.

Fantastic Dance workshops

This term the dancers had a fantastic workshop with the talented Carl Campbell of CCDC7 who led a high energy Contemporary Caribbean dance masterclass. Mr Campbell has been Artistic Director of Carl Campbell Dance Company 7 since 1978 and is one of the UK’s most experienced dance specialists pioneering community based Contemporary Caribbean dance practice. The dancers also had a brilliant Contemporary Jazz workshop with Sara Dos Santos, Artistic Director of EIC Dance Theatre. We are grateful to both artists for sharing their knowledge with the dancers and look forward to working with both Carl and Sara again in the future.
