Register now for tickets for our AYD100 Campaign

We are inviting 100 young Black students to see the world renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on either the 5th or 11th September, 2019, at Sadler's Wells Theatre. Tickets are available for young people aged 12 – 19 years, of African and Caribbean descent, who have an interest in dance.
To register, visit: www.ayd100.eventbrite.comTickets are £5 each.

This is an event NOT TO BE MISSED so don't sleep on it!

The tickets have been provided to encourage more young people of African and Caribbean descent to see live dance shows across a range of genres. We know from our own experiences and testimonials from our young dancers how important it is for them to see successful role models take up space in different dance genres that they once thought were not for people that looked like them.

We'd like to also thank the many individuals who donated to our crowdfunding campaign and Sadler's Wells Theatre who made this possible.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
About the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT) grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street in New York City. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance. The company has earned a reputation as one of the most acclaimed international ambassadors of American culture, promoting the uniqueness of the African-American cultural experience and the preservation and enrichment of the American modern dance. To see videos of the AAADT, visit: https://www.youtube.com/user/AileyOrganization

Please also feel free to share the information with any other young people who may be interested.

Tickets are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. To register, visit:
www.ayd100.eventbrite.com
Enjoy!

Many thanks,

Kamara Gray and the dancers of Artistry Youth Dance

‘Blaze’ Girls’ Day of Dance Trinity Laban

Trinity Laban

15th February, 2017

Artistry Youth Dance

For the second year in succession, we were guest performers at ‘Blaze’, a unique dance event run by Trinity Laban. Blaze is an interactive day of dance for girls aged 11-16 years, aimed to encourage them to participate in dance. The day featured performances by female dancers in order to inspire the participants. Audience members stated that their highlight of the event was ‘being able to watch all of the different performances’. A huge thank you to Trinity Laban for including us in such an uplifting event.

We are auditioning for our 2015/2016 company on the 5th July, 2015!

Want to join our fantastic youth dance company? Want to participate in great classes, fantastic workshops, and perform at some of London's best venues? Love Jazz, Contemporary and ballet?

Auditions are on Sunday 5th July, 2015. Click here to register now!

Filming of contemporary dance piece, 'In a State of Lack'

The dancers have started work with their first choreographer, Gerrard Martin and it is looking good! Gerrard is an extremely experienced artist and we are fortunate to have him on board. Have a look at his extensive biog here: www.gerrardmartindance.com
The dancers worked with both Gerrard and videographer Charlotte Levy to film sections of their piece, 'In a State of Lack'. The footage will be made into a short dance film. Watch this space for the full dance footage. Until then, have a look at short excerpt of the work filmed.

Fantastic workshop with dance legend, Namron!

The dancers had the unique experience of working with legendary dance artist, Namronin an exciting contemporary dance workshop. The workshop was challenging and fast paced and thoroughly enjoyed by all (including myself!). The workshop was performed with the accompaniment of the fantastic drummer, Charles. Such amazing energy!

Since the workshop, Namron has also been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list! This is a well deserved recognition to his services to dance and I hope to be able to have him back again to work with the dancers. Thank you Namron, OBE!

London Youth Dance article about us!

Artistry Youth Dance has been selected as a regional finalist for 'U.Dance', a national youth dance festival organised by Youth Dance England, Sadler's Wells and Trinity Laban. We've been mentioned in this article by London Dance (alongside the other finalists) regarding our selection in this fantastic event! Very exciting!
